Having been a professional photographer for over 10 years Maisie works instinctively with an awareness of where a strong image will present itself. Her favourite work is when she is concentrating fully on events, how the light falls and the movements that people are making. We have chosen to highlight in this exhibition a recent set of images commissioned by Dorset County hospital to hang in the Alzheimers ward. They are an evocative insight into the personalities and the people these intimate spaces belong to. ‘Brian’ has been sold at both our most recent shows in London and Bristol and seems to capture a gentle side of English life most of us would recognise.
All images are limited edition. Maisie lives and works in Lyme Regis.
Andy’s images are some of the most popular in our gallery, with good reason. His two feature images are of the nearby coastline and countryside. ‘Mist in the Vales’ from Quarr Hill shows the sun’s rays colouring the mist formed in the vales with a flock of sheep resting in a field on top of a hill, and is indeed ‘magical’. In his words ‘photographing our coast and countryside in all sorts of weather conditions entails many early morning starts and endless waiting for the correct light’. Andy’s portfolio online is carefully judged to display just the most perfect shots.
