A study on a series of incredibly beautiful Spanish Chestnut trees at Croft Castle called the Armada Chestnuts. Legend says that they were raised from nuts found in the pocket of a Spanish sailor wrecked during the attempted Armada invasion in 1588, they were planted at Croft Castle along with English Oaks to represent the battle lines of the English and Spanish fleets.
